Your Freight Forwarding Agent & CHA Partner in India (Bangalore)

Appoint Sea Air Cargo Systems as your freight forwarding agent and partner in India. Licensed CHA since 1999, IATA accredited — customs clearance, handling and pan-India door delivery at BLR, Chennai & JNPT. WhatsApp +91 90085 21186.

Direct Answer

Sea Air Cargo Systems is a Licensed Customs House Agent (CHA) — an authorised customs broker licensed to file bills of entry and shipping bills on behalf of importers and exporters — since 1999 and an IATA-accredited freight forwarder based in Bengaluru. We act as your destination agent in India — the local agent appointed at destination to handle clearance, delivery and compliance — covering BLR airport, ICD Whitefield, Chennai and JNPT with pan-India door delivery and a single point of contact.

Why Appoint Sea Air as Your Freight Forwarding Agent in India?

Appoint Sea Air because we hold our own Licensed CHA (11/1999) in-house — never subcontracted — backed by 25+ years of experience, IATA accreditation, direct coverage of BLR airport, ICD Whitefield, Chennai and JNPT, and pan-India door delivery through one partner.

If you are an overseas freight forwarder, NVOCC or customs broker, you need a partner who can clear cargo under their own licence, handle exceptions without excuses, and deliver to any pin code without calling a third party. That is what we offer as your cargo & customs agent in Bangalore.

Our CHA licence (11/1999) is held in-house. We do not subcontract customs clearance. When a query arises, our own staff walk the documentation to the appraiser and resolve it. There is no intermediary markup, no blame-shifting, and no delay.

We are IATA accredited: we issue air waybills and handle airport-to-door cargo without another forwarder. For sea freight, we coordinate FCL and LCL at Chennai and JNPT, with inland haulage across South India.

What sets us apart is customs ownership combined with last-mile control. We handle the full chain: customs filing, duty assessment, examination supervision, cartage, and final delivery under DDP or DDU terms. You get one invoice, one point of contact, and proactive milestone updates. About Sea Air Cargo Systems.

What does a destination agent actually do at BLR airport?

A destination agent at BLR receives the cargo, files the Bill of Entry under their CHA licence, pays duty, supervises examination if required, collects the cargo from the terminal, and arranges road delivery. We perform every step in-house.

What We Handle for Overseas Forwarders

We handle the full India leg on your behalf: customs clearance under our own CHA licence, import and export documentation, cargo handling at all major gateways, pan-India last-mile delivery under DDP/DDU — Incoterms where the agent arranges door delivery, with DDP including duty and DDU excluding it — plus re-forwarding, transhipment, and specialist coordination for project cargo and regulator approvals.

As your nominated agent, we treat your client's cargo with the same care we give our own customers. A delayed customs clearance or missed delivery reflects on your brand, not just ours. That is why we assign a dedicated operations executive to every overseas partner.

Which Indian Gateways Do You Cover?

We cover the four principal South and West India gateways — Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR), ICD Whitefield (INWFD6), Chennai Port and Airport (INCHQ1), and JNPT (INNSA1) — with onward road and rail reach to every state, so your cargo enters India at the most efficient point.

Choosing the right gateway saves days. Bengaluru-bound cargo should enter via BLR air or ICD Whitefield sea; Hyderabad or Chennai cargo is often faster through Chennai Port; Pune or Western Maharashtra shipments are best routed through JNPT.

GatewayCodeModesWhat we handle
Kempegowda International Airport, BengaluruBLRAir import / exportExpress customs, perishables, pharma, urgent spares
ICD Whitefield, BengaluruINWFD6Sea import (FCL/LCL)Customs clearance, destuffing, re-forwarding, pan-India road dispatch

JNPT / Nhava ShevaINNSA1Sea import (FCL/LCL)West India gateway for Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka

Through rail and road partners, we arrange onward delivery to Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Cochin and Ahmedabad. As your destination agent in India, we select the optimal gateway based on your client's location and cargo type.

Is ICD Whitefield better than Chennai for Bengaluru-bound cargo?

For most Bengaluru-bound sea freight, ICD Whitefield is the natural choice because containers are railed from JNPT or Chennai, customs cleared there, and road-hauled a short distance to the factory. Chennai Port adds an extra 350 km road haul. An ICD — an Inland Container Depot where import containers are stripped, customs cleared, and cargo dispatched for onward inland delivery — such as Whitefield is critical for inland cities like Bengaluru.

In-House Licensed CHA vs a Subcontracted Agent

An in-house Licensed CHA means your customs filings are prepared, signed, and supervised by our own staff on our own licence number, giving you direct accountability, faster query resolution, no hidden markup, and a single point of contact who cannot blame a third party when delays occur.

Many overseas forwarders have appointed an India agent who farms customs clearance to a subcontracted CHA. When a query arises, nobody takes ownership. We do not operate that way. Our CHA licence is on our own premises. Here is the difference:

FactorIn-house CHA (Sea Air)Subcontracted agent
AccountabilityOne firm, one licenceSplit responsibility between agent and subcontractor
Query resolution speedSame-day walk-in to appraiserDelayed while messages pass through two offices
Markup / hidden feesTransparent; no CHA markup addedAgent marks up subcontractor fee
Liability on misdeclarationWe carry it on our licenceBlame-shifting common
Single point of contactYes — one operations executiveOften two or three contacts

If you want a Licensed Customs House Agent, Bengaluru who clears the cargo rather than passing it on, Sea Air is the right choice.

How a Reciprocal Agency Partnership Works

A reciprocal agency — a mutual arrangement between two independent forwarders in different countries who nominate each other's shipments — partnership with Sea Air means two-way nominations, agreed credit terms, a written communication SLA, and proactive milestone and POD updates from one dedicated operations contact.

We are open to reciprocal partnerships with independent forwarders, NVOCCs and customs brokers worldwide. We do not require membership of any global alliance or network. Our preference is for genuine two-way business: we handle your India inbound cargo, and you handle our outbound cargo on your lanes. Here is how we structure it:

  1. Two-way nominations — You send us cargo to and from India; we nominate your office for outbound shipments. The flow is balanced and transparent.
  2. Credit terms — For established agents with references, we offer credit terms agreed per partnership. We do not publish standard credit limits; they are set based on volumes and payment history.
  3. Communication SLA — We agree a written SOP covering response times, milestone updates, and escalation paths. You will never wait 48 hours for an update on your client's cargo.
  4. No alliance claims — We are an independent forwarder. We do not claim membership of WCA, FIATA, JCtrans, GAA or any other network. Our relationship is built on performance.

See our page on reciprocal agent & network partnership.

Do we need to join a network to work with you?

No. We are an independent forwarder and do not require membership of WCA, FIATA, JCtrans, GAA or any other alliance. Our partnerships are direct and based on mutual performance. If you have regular India lanes, we are happy to discuss a reciprocal arrangement without network fees.

How to Appoint Sea Air as Your India Agent

The appointment process takes five steps: you send us your lanes and volumes, we agree mutual agency terms and credit, we establish a written SOP and assign a single point of contact, you send your first nomination, and we settle into an ongoing reciprocal flow.

  1. Send enquiry and lanes — Email or WhatsApp us your main trade lanes, monthly volumes, and cargo types. Tell us whether you need air, sea, or both, and which Indian destinations you serve most.
  2. Mutual agency terms and credit — We review your profile, check trade references, and propose agency terms including credit period and payment currency. Rates and credit limits are agreed per partnership, on request.
  3. SOP and single POC — We draft an SOP covering documentation cut-offs, customs query handling, delivery protocols, and milestone reporting. One operations executive is assigned as your dedicated contact.
  4. First nomination — Send your first shipment. We treat it as a test of our systems. You receive updates at arrival, filing, out-of-charge and final POD.
  5. Ongoing reciprocal flow — After the first few shipments, we review performance together, adjust the SOP if needed, and build a regular flow. We prefer long-term partnerships over one-off transactions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Sea Air act as our destination agent in India?

Yes. We act as destination agent for overseas forwarders at BLR, ICD Whitefield, Chennai and JNPT. We clear customs on our own CHA licence, handle documentation, arrange cartage and last-mile delivery, and report milestones in your preferred format. Your client sees professional service; you retain the relationship.

Do you hold your own customs (CHA) licence, or subcontract it?

We hold our own CHA licence (11/1999) in-house at our Bengaluru office. We do not subcontract clearance to another broker. This means faster query resolution, no hidden agency markup, and direct accountability when customs raises a question or demands additional documentation.

Which Indian ports and airports do you cover?

We cover Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR), ICD Whitefield (INWFD6), Chennai Port and Airport (INCHQ1), and JNPT Nhava Sheva (INNSA1). Through road and rail partners, we also deliver to every state in India, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi NCR, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.

Do you offer reciprocal / two-way business?

Yes. We welcome reciprocal partnerships with independent overseas forwarders and NVOCCs. We handle your India inbound cargo and nominate your office for our outbound shipments on your lanes. Credit terms are available to established partners and are agreed per partnership based on volumes and references.

Do you offer credit terms to network agents?

Yes. For established agents with verifiable trade references and a history of reciprocal flow, we offer credit terms agreed on request. We do not publish standard rates or credit limits; every partnership is evaluated individually and terms are set to suit both parties' cash-flow needs.

How do we appoint Sea Air and send our first shipment?

Send us your lanes, volumes and cargo profile by email or WhatsApp. We will agree mutual agency terms, set up a written SOP, assign a single point of contact, and await your first nomination. After successful initial shipments, we move into regular reciprocal flow with ongoing performance review.
