Start Here: Compliance Roadmap
Compliance is not a single certificate — it is a layered system. For most products, you need at least one product-specific certification and one labelling or metrology registration. Electronics need BIS CRS and possibly WPC ETA. Food needs FSSAI. Cosmetics and medical devices need CDSCO. All packaged goods need LMPC compliant labels.
Start by identifying your product's HS code and checking the Compliance Checker. Then apply for certifications at least 8–12 weeks before your planned shipment date. Most certificates have validity periods — BIS CRS is typically valid for 2 years, while FSSAI licences need annual renewal. Plan renewals so they do not lapse during active import cycles.
